Northern Engineering Design & Forensics (NEDF) is an employee-owned Canadian consulting firm. As the company name implies, NEDF provides structural design and forensic services.

NEDF is a small consulting firm located in Toronto. Despite our modest size, we have experience in the design of a wide range of buildings, including residential (both single and multi-family accommodations), commercial, heavy industrial and petrochemical. We have worked on additions and modifications to existing buildings. We are equally adept at using reinforced concrete, structural steel, masonry and wood (both sawn lumber and engineered wood) as construction materials.

Our non-building designs include overhead transmission lines, supports of PCS and dish antennas, signage supports (both free-standing and attachments), pipe racks and towers, retaining walls, industrial silo foundations, and supports of elevated chillers, vibrating equipment, industrial bins and conveyors.

We aim to provide efficient, cost-effective and innovative engineering solutions in every design. In our forensic practice, we perform thorough and unbiased investigations.
